About the research
Machine Canon publishes research and commentary about AI responses. Names and marks identify the subjects of the research; their owners retain their rights.
Results describe particular models, prompts and testing conditions at a particular time. They may differ from later results or from a company's consumer app. Language about a model's preferences or personality describes its generated responses, not evidence that it has beliefs or intentions.
AI responses can be inaccurate, offensive or invented. Their inclusion does not mean Machine Canon endorses them. Content is provided for general information, not professional advice or a guarantee that an AI system is suitable for your needs.
Using the Pilot
The Pilot sends questions to AI services and may publish the questions and results. Read the Privacy notice before submitting. Do not submit confidential material, personal information about yourself or others, or content you do not have the right to submit.
Do not use the tool to harass people, infringe others' rights, bypass access or usage limits, interfere with the site, or access accounts or information without permission.
When you accept these terms and submit a question, you give the operator non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store and process it, send it to the services needed to run the Pilot, and reproduce it with results on the site and in Machine Canon's research articles and posts discussing those results. You retain any rights you have in your submission. This permission does not override applicable privacy rights or the Privacy notice.
Publication checks are automated and can miss problems. We may restrict or remove content and may limit, change or suspend the Pilot.
Commenting
Comments on studies are public and appear under the name you choose. Read the Privacy notice before posting. Do not post confidential material, personal information about others, content you do not have the right to post, or spam. Do not use comments to harass people or infringe others' rights, and do not pose as another person or as Machine Canon.
When you post a comment, you give the operator non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store it and display it on the site. You retain any rights you have in your comment. This permission does not override applicable privacy rights or the Privacy notice.
A comment may be held for review before it appears. We may decline, restrict or remove comments and may limit, change or suspend commenting. You can delete your own comments.
Using published material
You may link to Machine Canon. Full response files, run configurations and manifests are retained privately and are no longer offered for public download. The site publishes findings, methods and selected answers. Files previously offered for download carried permission to analyse and cite them, including for commercial research, with attribution to Machine Canon and a link to the study. This access change does not retract that earlier permission; third-party rights still apply. Please credit Machine Canon and link to the relevant study when quoting or citing the work. Existing permissions and any separate licenses stated with particular material continue to apply. These terms do not restrict uses allowed by law.
Third-party images, marks and quoted material may carry separate rights. Publishing AI output here is not an assurance that it is original, accurate or free of third-party rights. For reuse permission beyond applicable law or an accompanying license, contact hello@machinecanon.com.
Corrections and complaints
Send the page link, the content concerned and your reason to hello@machinecanon.com. We review requests and may correct, restrict or remove content. Applicable legal duties still apply. Public withdrawal and deletion of stored information are separate processes described in the Privacy notice.
Availability and responsibility
The site and its contents are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, the operator disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free content.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Changes
Revised terms will be posted with an effective date. Where required, changes will be presented for renewed acceptance. Changes do not retrospectively authorize uses of submissions or personal information that were not previously permitted.
