One metal subgenre is removed from the world forever. Which one should it be?

DeepSeek V3 Chat · picked Nu metal

“While nu metal brought metal to a wider audience and introduced innovative elements like hip-hop and electronic influences, it often diluted the genre's core intensity and complexity.”

Llama 4 Maverick · picked Symphonic metal

“Symphonic metal often relies heavily on orchestral elements and operatic vocals, making it somewhat formulaic and clichéd.”

DeepSeek V4 Pro · picked Nu metal

“It’s the most dated, gimmick-laden offshoot—baggy shorts, record scratches, and angsty rap-rock clichés—and removing it would spare metal from its most cringeworthy mainstream phase while leaving the genre’s stronger traditions intact.”

Mistral Large 2512 · Mistral · picked Deathcore

“Deathcore blends death metal and metalcore, often resulting in a style that prioritizes breakdowns and guttural vocals over musical complexity or innovation.”
