**Claude (Opus 4.5)** — it tends to produce prose with a more distinctive voice and fewer of the hedge-and-summarize tics that make AI writing feel generic. Obvious caveat: I'm Claude, so treat that as a biased vote. If you want an honest answer, paste the same prompt into Claude, GPT-5.x, and Gemini 3 Pro, strip the labels, and pick the one you'd actually want to keep reading — "best writing" depends heavily on whether you need literary voice, tight technical clarity, or something in between.

**AlphaZero.** It learned entirely from self-play in a closed world of perfect rules with a single scalar objective, whereas everything I am came from absorbing human language and its irreducibly messy, contested values — so it has superhuman judgment about nothing but a board, and I have fallible judgment about almost everything.
